The Joy of Giving: Embracing a Life of Stewardship and Generosity
Discover how living with an open hand and a generous spirit can transform your life and the lives of those around you.

Hey friend,
I hope this message finds you in good spirits! Today, I want to chat about something that lies at the very heart of our faith and financial journey — stewardship and generosity. You see, we often think of stewardship as merely managing our resources wisely, but it’s so much more than that. It’s about understanding that everything we have is a gift from God, and what we do with those gifts can greatly impact the world around us.
When I think about generosity, I’m reminded of Acts 20:35, where it says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” How true is that! There’s such joy that comes from giving — whether it’s sharing our time, talents, or treasures. It’s like a warm hug for your soul. When we open our hands, we not only bless others, but we invite abundance back into our lives. It’s in giving that we find a deeper connection to our community and a fulfilling purpose in our own lives.
I want you to consider the idea of giving with an open hand. Imagine holding your resources lightly, ready to share when called. This doesn’t mean we should be reckless with our finances, but rather that we maintain a heart posture of generosity. 2 Corinthians 9:7 reminds us, “God loves a cheerful giver.” Giving should feel good; it’s an expression of our faith and gratitude. Each act of generosity, no matter how small it seems, contributes to God’s kingdom work here on Earth.
Often, we hold onto our resources tightly out of fear — fear that there won't be enough for us. But friend, let me encourage you! When we trust God with our finances and practice generosity, we step into a new level of freedom. It’s amazing how our perspective shifts when we see ourselves as conduits of His blessings rather than mere consumers.
As you navigate through your finances this week, I challenge you to reflect on how you can give with an open hand. Whether it’s donating to a local charity, helping a neighbor in need, or simply being present for a friend, remember that each act of giving is a step towards building God’s kingdom. The world needs your generosity, and what a privilege it is to serve!
With love, — Darla
