Finding True Abundance: Learning the Grace of Enough

Hey friend, I am so glad you are here. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the constant hum of 'more' that seems to follow us everywhere. Whether it is our bank account, our home, or our schedule, the world constantly whispers that we would be happier if we just had a little bit extra. But I have found that true peace isn't found in a bigger balance; it is found in the quiet, steady rhythm of contentment. It is that sweet spot where we realize that what we have right now is enough because God is enough for us.

I love how the Apostle Paul talks about this in Philippians 4:12 when he shares that he has learned the secret of being content in any and every situation. Notice he calls it a secret, which tells me that contentment isn't a natural instinct—it is something we cultivate over time. It is a posture of the heart that chooses gratitude over grasping. When we start to see our resources as gifts to be stewarded rather than prizes to be accumulated, the pressure to always have more begins to lift.

We often fall into the trap of thinking that 'enough' is a specific dollar amount, but the Bible teaches us that godliness with contentment is great gain in 1 Timothy 6:6. That is such a beautiful promise, isn't it? It suggests that our financial health is actually tied to our spiritual health. When we stop looking left and right at what everyone else is doing, we create the space to hear God's voice guiding us in how to use what He has already placed in our hands. That is where real stewardship begins.

So, today, I want to encourage you to take a deep breath and look at your life through the lens of gratitude. Instead of focusing on what is lacking, try naming three things you have that you are truly thankful for. It shifts your perspective and softens your heart. Remember, you are loved not for what you own, but for whose you are. You are doing a wonderful job, and you have exactly what you need for this season. With love, — Darla
